What is the procedure to be recognised as a student with a disability?
In order to receive learning support, you must have a certificate stating that your disability is long-term or permanent, and/or documentation from your home university. A long-term disability might be, for example, reading and writing difficulties/dyslexia, physical disabilities, hearing and vision impairment, neuropsychiatric disabilities, mental health conditions or chronic illness.
Short-term injury or illness is not covered by learning support. If you need short-term assistance, you should contact your department.
Necessary documents to provide
You must include a certificate verifying your disability and the disability should last at least 6 months.
The certificate should verify your disability and be issued by a licensed healthcare professional such as a doctor, psychologist, audiologist or licensed dyslexia therapist.
What can students expect?
