Please note:
To apply for disability services it is necessary to make an appointment with a counsellor and bring documentation issued by a qualified specialist describing the type of disability in question and how it affects you as a student. If you need special assistance in your studies it is very important that you contact our office with good notice, preferably a few months before studies begin.
The final date to apply for specific assistance during exams each semester is October 15 for autumn semester and March 15 for spring semester, see information in the Academic Calendar for the University. Please make sure you apply within the stated timeframe.

Adapted books: please note that students have to provide their own special software on personal computers, like text-to-speech or ZoomText. On the other hand they have access to small computer lab (access center) which is equipped with special software (like Ivona and ZoomText) and is available for daily use and for exams.
For those in need of adapted reading or digital material there are three main sources:
a. Háskólaprent / University press: scans books for students, e.g. for those who use text-to-speech software. This service is free of charge but students have to provide their own curriculum.

Primary Health Care of the Capital Area operate fifteen health clinics and four additional specialized centres in Reykjavik and vicinity. The health care clinics offer various medical and nursing services, general medical service, general nursing care, infant and maternity service, school nursing, vaccinations for adults, health care for the elderly etc. The health clinic's activities are directed towards neighborhood services and are expected to serve inhabitants of particular parts of the capital city area.
