Housing for special needs
The Studentenwerk Oldenburg offers specially equipped apartments for disabled and chronically ill students. Preferential consideration is regularly given not only to wheelchair-bound and mobility-impaired students, but also to sensory-impaired and chronically ill students. As proof of disability, students can submit a specialist medical certificate as an alternative to the severely disabled ID card. In addition, a statement from the disability counseling service can be accepted as proof.
The Studentenwerk Oldenburg makes every effort to support students with special needs by providing suitable housing. As far as we are able, adaptations for your personal needs can also be made to a certain extent (e.g. with regard to the furnishing of a room or an apartment).
We are not only thinking of physically disabled students: We also want to consider chronic illnesses or other limitations. For example, if you are dependent on living in a single apartment due to a mental illness or, for example, a severe food allergy, we can take this into account. If you are unsure whether and to what extent we can support you, please do not hesitate to contact our disability advisor or the staff of our student housing department.
