Procedures for students

Procedure to be recognised as a student with fewer opportunities

A fewer opportunity individual is a potential participant whose individual physical, mental or health-related situation is such that his/her participation in the project / mobility Action would not be possible without extra financial support. Students that fall into in one of below categories, can receive an extra top-up added to the original grant amount.

• with physical, mental and psychological disabilities
• with physical and mental health issues
• with a low socio-economic background
• with an immigrant/refugee background
• political refugee students/graduates
• who are children of single-parent or large-child families from a low socio-economic background
• who are parents themselves and belong to the category of people with a low socio-economic background
• coming from rural, deprived, remote and critical areas
• who come from dysfunctional families (e.g. with drug addict parents, monitored by the Welfare Office, etc.)
• students/graduates with Learning Difficulties (e.g. Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, etc.)

Students that fall into in one of the above categories, should arrange an appointment with the Counseling office of each campus in order to receive the approval from the Head of the office.

Potential students  with fewer opportunities at Frederick University should submit the requested documents that would be asked from the Counseling office as proof of their requirements. The attached document should be submitted as well for further internal processing.

Semester long mobility (60-360 days): A top-up of 250 EUR/month

Short term mobility and short blended mobility including BIP (5-30 days): A top-up of 100 EUR for mobilities with a duration of 5-14 days and 150 EUR for mobilities with a duration of 15-30 days

If there are extra expenses during the exchange, due to disability, not covered by the top-up, students can apply for up to 100 percent coverage of actual costs. Expenses may include additional costs that the student or staff or the host university may have that are not covered in another way. This can for example be transportation, teaching aids, special accommodation, assistants, or medical assistance in the country of the student's or staff host university.

This procedure is applicable for both local and international students
