Adjustments for students with disabilities
Adjustments can be made available for students under certain conditions, based on a needs assessment upon arrival at the University.
What adjustments for studies can be made for students?
- May bring a Sign Language interpreter to the educational activities
- May request adjusted courses materials: size, font and font size, braille, etc.

The adjustments that you would need can be discussed with the Deans of Students. Erasmus+ grants may be available from your home institution. Please ask your home institution about the possibilities.

Arranging insurance is your own responsibility, but we can provide information to guide you where possible. For example, Tilburg University recommends the Aon Complete+ Insurance package to all international students. This covers medical, travel and liability insurance, including conditions that pre-existed before your arrival in the Netherlands. Preparatory visits
What is the procedure to request a preparatory visit?
The International Mobility Team is happy to create a customized preparatory visit with you! Please contact us for more information ([email protected]).
What can be expected from the preparatory visit?
We’ll try to accommodate your individual request as well as possible. Please outline your needs and wishes in as much detail as possible, to help us prepare your visit. This may include a campus tour and meeting with employees of the services you may make use of at our university.

Your exchange at Tilburg University officially begins with the Program Introduction, where lots of information is shared about the support services at our university and how students with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or other personal circumstances can access tailored support. The information shared is recorded and later uploaded online with auto-generated subtitles.
