What is the procedure to be recognised as a student with fewer opportunities?
We offer Erasmus+ fewer opportunities extra grant and possibility to apply for inclusion support from Finnish National Agency. Students apply for the fewer opportunities grant through the international office.
Necessary documents to provide
Staff gives support with this when it is needed.

Laurea has good well-being services for students and our motto is that we are here for you at Laurea.
Diferences for local and international students in the procedure
Laurea pays fewer opportunities grants for Laurea students only. Incoming students must apply for the grant from their home universities.

What is the procedure to be recognised as a student with a disability?
First conctact is international office specialist for incoming students and then we discuss the special needs together.
Necessary documents to provide
For Laurea outgoing students the necessary document is the fewer opportunities top up form.
What can students expect?
Introduction about possibilities at Laurea, counseling with staff member. It is possible to have special arrangements in class and in exams. Please discuss this with the teacher when the course starts.

Adjustments can be made available for students under certain conditions, based on a needs assessment upon arrival at the University.

Other adjustments and services for students with disabilities offered at the institution
Instructions e.g. regarding dyslexia. The contact person can also direct to other places where it is possible to get help.
Sini Aalto-Friman is the first contact. The special education teachers can be consulted. When the course starts, the student discusses the adjustments with the specific teacher. Usual adjustments are; using laptop, quiet space for exams, extra time, audio books, oral exams, digital versions of books etc.

We support in finding housing but we do not have our own housing facilities on campus. Some of student housing (HOAS) are accessible.
