What is the procedure to be recognised as a student with a disability?
As soon as the student applies for an degree or exchange at BUas. De student can indicate if they have a disability, the student counsellor will contact the student for an appointment.
If the student does not indicate that they have a disability, they have the chance during the introduction of the program, as the student counsellors will be introduced to all students. The student can then decide to privately contact the student counsellor.
Necessary documents to provide
A diagnoses of the person that has establish the functional limitation.
What can students expect?
That BUas gives all students an equal chance to study and graduate at BUas.
Adjustments for students with disabilities
Adjustments can be made available for students under certain conditions, based on a needs assessment upon arrival at the University.
What adjustments for studies can be made for students?
- May bring a note taker to educational activities
- May bring a personal assistant to educational activities
- May bring a Sign Language interpreter to the educational activities
- May request to record lectures
- May use a laptop, tablet or iPad during lectures
- May use elevators and other access facilities on campus

Where to seek medical services?
BUas has a Student psychologist, student counsellors per academy and a student counsellor for International Students.
BUas works together with a general practitioner and the Municipal Health Service (GGD West-Brabant). All to provide the nec
care.
In the near future BUas will open a health center for students and staff.
