Procedures for students

Procedure to be recognised as a student with fewer opportunities

Contact with the student counselor: [email protected]

During a conversation, we will check if and what adjustments are needed. Every year, before the start of the academic year, an e-mail is sent to all students, asking them to indicate whether they expect to need any adaptations because of a disability and whether they want to discuss this with the student counsellor.

Depending on the disability.

Most of our adjustments are  inclusive or can be made in consultation with the head of department.

The study is to a large extent individually oriented. As a result, there is quite a lot of inclusiveness with regard to adaptations and these are often also available to students who do not have a diagnosed disability.

This institution has not provided information about if the procedure applies for both local and international students

Adjustments for students with disabilities

  • May bring a note taker to educational activities
  • May bring a personal assistant to educational activities
  • May bring a Sign Language interpreter to the educational activities
  • May use a laptop, tablet or iPad during lectures
  • May use elevators and other access facilities on campus
  • May bring a personal assistant to the exam for practical help at the beginning and end of the exam
  • May bring a Sign Language interpreter to oral exams
  • May move the exams to the appropriate catch-up exam period within the same exam period
  • May take a seat in separate exam room for written exams
  • May take more preparation time before the oral exam
  • May take more time for the written exam

Depending on the disability, the necessary adjustments are made.

In the first place, only those adjustments are made which are necessary to follow the study and which are not relevant for daily life.

In general:

There are two examinations per academic year. These examinations are an overview of the assignments carried out during the semester. Usually, it is not necessary to make adjustments to this, because the form is relatively flexible.

For written assignments, it is possible to get extra time. This is done in consultation with the lecturer concerned
