A copy of the diagnosis will be required before facilities can be arranged.
HKU offers facilities for students with functional disabilities. The student counsellors at HKU will guide students through the process of applying for facilities, after which a meeting is set up with the studend, their tutor at HKU and one of the student counsellors. During this first meeting, options, arrangements or facilities that best meet the needs of the student will be explored. After this meeting, any facilities that all parties have agreed upon, will be arranged and set in motion. The tutor at HKU will then stay in close touch with the student during the entire course of their studies, and will provide support and information to help the student perform in an optimal way.
Adjustments can be made available for students under certain conditions, based on a needs assessment upon arrival at the University.
- Additional guidance from a tutor
- Additional time for deadlines of written reports or other works
- Additional help from a teacher on matters such as the course material, or about lessons in general
- A made to measure study programme, adjusted to what a student's specific needs and limits are
- Added main course lessons in case of study delay (at the Utrecht Conservatory only)
