The University of Twente strives to create a safe learning and working environment. An environment where everyone can feel at home and has equal opportunities to develop their full potential. We aim to foster an open-minded and inspiring community, by building a strong inclusive culture at our university. We want to create common ground and proud collective ownership, strengthen the capacity of the University of Twente, develop solutions for those who need support and create a platform that facilitates dialogue by addressing people’s needs in a respectful, safe and inclusive way.
DON’t send any official documents with information on personal circumstances in advance.
Discuss with the study advisor of the educational programme or the student counsellor which documents need to be submitted or seen.
Adjustments can be made available for students under certain conditions, based on a needs assessment upon arrival at the University.
All adjustments concerning exams are made in consultation with the study advisor and after approval of the examination board. At the University of Twente we use an individual approach based on the question and needs of the student. Together with the student and the study advisor of the educational programme, we look at what is possible in terms of measures.
A formal request for a changed format has to submit to the Examination Board. In the request explain what the personal situation is and why it is not possible for you to do a written (re)exam and explain what kind of format can/will help you. Ask the study programme's student advisor for advice on how to submit the request
A changed format of an exam has to be approved on forehand (at the start of the course).
