Smart Pens, Recording Devices and Electronic Dictionaries provided. Note takers where required. Students who may suffer with back problems can request suitable chairs for lectures. Exam Support also provided, for example alternative venue (approx 30 in the room) low distraction venue (approx 10 students in a room) PC Suite if PC required to type exam, room alone, and extra time provided.

The Disability office has a close relationship with the Galway City for Independent Living and also some of the students use a bus to travel to and from College.

What specific information is provided for students with disabilities during the orientation days?
A student must call to the office to register and meet with the Disability Officer or Learning Support Tutors’, evidence of disability is required, A LENS Report (Learning Educational Needs Summary) will be completed and the relevant disciplines notified. An induction is held with the students to give them a feel for the college and meet with other students registered with disability.
