Audiobooks: Electronic books used with text-to-speech/screenreading software are usually preferred.
Adapted Books: The library buys many texts in ebook format. Braille books are not usually purchased, but DDS can advise Schools how to get materials converted to Braille as required (this may be as simple as sending Word/PDF documents to the Braille Embossers). DDS works with publishers where QMUL owns printed copied of books to get hold of them in accessible electronic formats, for the student to use with their preferred assistive technology.
Non-specialist human support: More information can be provided here: http://www.dds.qmul.ac.uk/disability/Non-Specialist%20Human%20Support/i…
Live captioning: Not available, although Qreview is (lecture capture) is available in most of the big lecture theatres. In addition, sign-language interpreters/note-takers can be arranged as required. DDS can also loan digital recorders to capture sessions held rooms that do not have Q-Review technology (subject to QMUL's policy on recording taught sessions).
